Vaughan Gething is 36 years old.  He lives in Butetown with his wife Michelle.  Vaughan is a successful solicitor and partner with Thompsons Solicitors – the largest trade union law firm in Britain.  He is now a largely retired cricketer and a fan of football and rugby. He has finally learned to swim this year after taking lessons at Splott pool.

Vaughan is a GMB & UNITE member. He led the 500 000 strong trade union movement in Wales as the youngest ever Wales TUC President during 2007/8.

He previously served as a Cardiff City Councillor.
