Labour and Co-operative Member of the House of Lords

As a long serving employee and member of the Co-operative Bank, culminating in his service as Managing Director between 1988 and 1997, Terry Thomas has made a significant contribution to the Co-operative Movement. Under his leadership, the Co-operative Bank developed its groundbreaking ethical policy, which enabled its expansion throughout the 1990s.

Subsequently, Lord Thomas has served as the chair of Capita Group (1997-98), and was the founder chair of the North West Regional Development Agency.
