South East Co-operative Party Day School, Reading

A Conference/Day School for members of the South East Co-operative Party is being held on 24 November. It will take place in the Reading International Solidarity Centre, 35-39 London Street, Reading , RG1 4PS. This is about 10 minutes walk from Reading station.

Speakers include Colin Wilkes on Co-operative Schools, Cllr Steve Reed on Co-operative Councils and Karen Wilkie on increasing the involvement of women and young people in the Co-operative Party.

Conference fee £20 per person, which will include simple buffet lunch, coffee/tea on arrival and departure. Provisional Programme

10.30 a.m.   Coffee

11.00 a.m.   Introduction and “Housekeeping”

11.10 a.m.   Co-operative Schools – Colin Wilkes, Lead for Academies Development, Schools Co-operative Society. Followed by questions and discussion.

12.00 noon Co-operative Councils – Steve Reed, Leader of Lambeth Council. Followed by questions and discussion.

12.45 p.m.   Lunch

1.45 p.m.     Increasing the involvement of women and young people in the Co-operative Party – Karen Wilkie, Deputy General Secretary of the Co-operative Party.

Followed by breakout sessions on these topics.

3.00 p.m.     Report back and plenary
