News releases | Martin Tiedemann | Posted 8 November 2011, 7:20pm

This joint event between the Friends of the Co-operative Ideal and SERA – the Labour Environment Campaign are hosting this joint event looking at the accountability gap in Britain’s railways.

Building on the Co-operative Party’s campaign The People’s Rail, we will be looking at the opportunities for mutual structures on our rail network, from infrastructure management to train operating companies and rolling stock.

The event takes place in the Wilson Room, Portcullis House, Houses of Parliament, Westminster SW1A 0AA

Our panel includes:

Maria Eagle, Shadow Transport Secretary
Mick Whelan, newly elected General Secretary of ASLEF
Lord Berkeley, Labour peer and Chairman, Rail Freight Group
