On 23 October Black Gold picked up three nominations for the 10th British Independent Film Awards, the only film awards in the UK for British filmmaking which this year will be held on 28th November.
The film was one of the leading nominees and won nominations in the following categories: BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN PRODUCTION, THE DOUGLAS HICKOX AWARD (BEST DEBUT DIRECTOR), BEST DOCUMENTARY.
